Quotable

Matthew Henry on Adam and Eve -

"She was not made out of his head to top him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side, to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved.”

Lovely, now try and pretty up Timothy 2:12.

But why 'pretty it up'? Maybe if you mention what bothers you about it, I could try to respond. Thanks as always for commenting.

A better question is what doesn't bother me about it?! 1 Timothy2:12,2:13,2:14,2:15 are but a few of many that drives home that the bible was written for men. Yes one has to understand the time in which it was written, I get it, but now days Christians skip over the hard parts, or reinterpret scripture to lessen the blow. The language of the bible is very different, with some meanings getting lost in translation and you do need to read between the lines, but sometimes it is what is. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. Thanks as always for tolerating my comments:)
